Would I be able to have a cat in a rented, pre furnished flat?

Hi, I’m moving out in a few months, and really want a pet to turn a house into a home. I really want a kitty, but I’m worried about not getting a furnished flat that will let me have a pet.

Does anyone know if I would be able to have a pet in a furnished rented flat?

The flat would have beds, sofa etc supplied by owner.

Thanks for any help.

That is one thing to ask about in the lease. Sometimes there is an extra fee; other times it is not allowed. But one thing you don’t want to do is sneak a cat in. You will be discovered, and you could be evicted.

Some places encourage pets; others refuse. A Realtor or rental agent may know which places are friendly to pets.

That would really be a question for the landlord of the flat you rent. Some will, some won’t. Most probably wouldn’t want a pet making a mess and marking the furniture with their claws, but some may not mind at all.
